It’s already been two years since we took over Pier 26. We are delighted to have earned an extremely loyal customer base and our sincere thanks to everyone who supported us during this time.
Over recent month’s and after plenty coffee & conversation, we discussed our vision for our restaurant. Led by Head Chef Dan Guerin and Manager Doireann Flynn, we want to offer the very best in seasonal cooking and Irish hospitality. With an extensive refurbishment now coming to a finish, a name change & a fresh overall look feels right.
“The CUSH” is an old pathway that stretched from the top of the pier along the cliff in Ballycotton and is well known by locals. It is the name we have chosen to take us forward. The symbols represent the four seasons and Dan’s philosophy & passion for using only the finest, locally-sourced seasonal produce.
In 2017, Pearse Flynn had a desire to bring something new to the Ballycotton restaurant scene. He wanted to offer the very best in contemporary Irish cuisine and accommodation.
The pub has existed for over 100 years, with the establishment changing hands five times during that time. The imprint left by preceding generations has remained intact.
The pub has rich tapestry of history adorning the walls, with pictures of Ballycotton locals and visitors dating back to the early-1900s.
Steeped in history and full of character, warmth and heart, Cush is the perfect mix of old and new. The entire building has been tastefully redecorated, and the bedrooms given a modern makeover.
When it comes to service, our front-of-house team endeavour to create a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere in which you feel free to enjoy yourself whilst savouring your food and wine to the fullest.

Cush is located on the waterfront, a stone’s throw from the sea. The ocean view setting offers an excellent backdrop to this 40 seat restaurant.
